[edit] Description
Daniel B. Wallace discusses the challenges facing New Testament textual criticism in the 21st century. Join us for this interesting discussion of this fascinating discipline. Many listeners will be familiar with Dr. Wallace from his introductory textbook and his textbook on intermediate Greek grammar. Dr. Wallace is the senior New Testament editor of the NET Bible and coeditor of the NET-Nestle Greek-English diglot. He has also founded The Center for the Study of New Testament Manuscripts, an institute with an initial purpose to preserve Scripture by taking digital photographs of all known Greek New Testament manuscripts.
Partial Transcript
Today, we have a wonderful discussion lined up. We're going to be talking about New Testament Textual Criticism. It's probably a field that brings quite a bit of division in seminaries. There are people that fall asleep in class, and others who have their eyes wide open in rapt attention (I'm one of the latter). We're very excited to speak about the shifts in this field and what the challenges are in the twenty-first century.
Dr. Wallace, as I mentioned, is highly regarded in New Testament Studies. He's the author of numerous books. Many of you probably know him from his workbook for New Testament syntax, and other related books in Greek Studies. We're excited to have him on the show, but Josh, it was your idea to discuss this article on Christ the Center. What drew you to it?
Josh: I had the opportunity to see Dr. Wallace's presentation live at DTS, and it was interesting to me, about textual criticism. I was fairly new to the discipline, and last year at Reformed Theological Seminary I was able to take an independent study with Dr. Guy Water on textual criticism. TO BE CONTINUED.
